When people think of Mount Fuji, most tourists head to the crowded lakeside spots of the Fuji Five Lakes. But there is another side—the true, historic side.
When people think of Mount Fuji, most tourists head to the crowded lakeside spots of the Fuji Five Lakes. But there is another side—the true, historic side.

Welcome to magichour camp, hidden halfway up Mt. Hamaishi (浜石岳) in Shizuoka. Located right next to Suruga Bay, our camp offers the exact, majestic view of Mt. Fuji that inspired Japan’s legendary Ukiyo-e (woodblock print) artists centuries ago. This is the ultimate, traditional Japanese landscape.

The best part? You don’t have to share this masterpiece with hundreds of other tourists. We are a small, family-run eco-camp limited to only one group per night.

The Ultimate "Hidden Gem" Experience:
The Ultimate "Hidden Gem" Experience:
  • 1. Your Private Ukiyo-e Masterpiece No tourist crowds, no selfie sticks, no digital noise. Just you, the forest, and an uninterrupted view of Mt. Fuji changing colors from daytime blue to sunset red (Aka Fuji), and finally resting under a blanket of stars. It is a luxurious, complete buyout of Japan’s most iconic view.

  • 2. A Deeply Local Food Adventure (Fresh Seafood & Sashimi!) Before heading up the mountain, we will pick you up for free and take you to a local food market near Suruga Bay. Here, you can shop for incredibly fresh seafood, authentic Sashimi, and local ingredients to cook over a traditional Japanese-style barbecue dinner under the open sky.

  • 3. Arrive with Nothing But Your Excitement No need to carry heavy gear into the mountains. We provide a spacious tent, cozy sleeping bags, a handcrafted brick fire pit, and a wood-burning stove for colder seasons.

Connect with Heart: Simple English & Warm Welcomes

Our story began 16 years ago when I crossed Eurasia from Japan to Morocco on a small motorbike with no smartphone—only a smile. Now, my wife Kumi, our son Locky, our Shiba Inu Tac, and I want to welcome you as family.

I speak simple English, and we use translation apps, but most importantly, we communicate with true feelings .

If you want to escape the tourist traps and experience the real Japan in absolute silence and privacy, please find us on the slopes of Mt. Hamaishi.
